Some of you might or might not have heard of the software Personio but it definitely has an interesting story behind its success. Personio is commonly used to assist those who worked for Human Resource Development(HRD) that was established by Hanno Renner.

It all started when it was founded by four intelligent people Hanno Renner, Roman Schumacher, Arsenly Vershinin and Ignaz Frostmeier. The company itself is based in Munich, Germany and has over 400 employees.

Some of those bothersome works such as the handling of new staff or even studies can easily be done with Persnonio.

What made it interesting is the fact that they founded this company when he was aged 25. Before that, Hanno Renner was a student at Germany's Technical University of Munich.

He also did some part-time job when he was still studying there as a Captain of a ship and he has sailed across the world from the Mediterranean all the way to the Caribbean.

Unlike Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates, Hanno Renner managed to complete his studies and he believed that he should finish what he started. After he finished his studies, he decided to set up his business Personio together with his 3 other friends.

The Start of Personio

It all started when Hanno Renner found out that one of his friends had trouble dealing with Human Resource related work and with no specific software to facilitate the work.

Most of the information was kept on a piece of paper as well as Excel. This itself is not self-sufficient and rather time-consuming.

This is the time he got an idea of creating the software Personio to help his friends. With the existence of Personio, most of the process is automated and the software is capable of handling data from job applications to the management of payroll.

The Peak Point of Personio

After 4 years since the start point of Personio, it is now currently worth $500 million USD. Most of the startup of the business was helped by Accel Venture Capital.

It has now since collected a lot from investors up to $129 million USD from Lightspeed and Lars Dalgaard who happens to be the CEO of SAP Success Factor. Another interesting thing is that Hannor Renner did not need to pitch in order to get the interest of investors and instead the investors came right ahead to their company to make an offer.

In can be said that Personio had a lot of unique features that are more focused on getting the attention of entrepreneurs from the small to medium-sized companies. This has made Personio be able to compete with big firms like Salesforce, Oracle and even SAP that are more focused on big companies.

As long as you have a deep passion for something and are willing to walk the extra mile to achieve your dreams, a lot of people will see the potential of us to move ahead and are more than willing to work for us. Just like Hanno Renner.
